Interim housing is short-term housing that rapidly integrates people who are homeless into an appropriate living space. These residences provide an intermediate step between homelessness and permanent housing without disrupting treatment and support. Once in interim housing, this program is designed to connect clients to viable permanent housing within six months dependent upon income.
Our residents have access to meals, laundry facilities and outdoor area for recreation, employment opportunities and housing referrals. Our Transitional Housing program provides case management services. Generally, it takes approximately six months to provide services to our residents, assess individuals’ needs and connect them with viable housing. However, this length may vary depending on an individual’s progress and needs.
Permanent supportive housing combines shelter and supportive services to help clients live in a stable and productive environment. When accepted to this program, residents have access to an array of services such as counseling, and, addiction recovery meetings.
This housing also emphasizes residents living a social, healthy, and active lifestyle with various activities offered. We also provide referrals to outside services and transportation assistance.
NBRHI coordinates residents social and medical needs through referrals to case managers who will manage the assessment and coordinated services with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals with specialties including behavioral healthcare treatment and mental health services.
In addition, NBRHI and client’s case manager will assist clients with obtaining identification, Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare as well as other vital resources necessary to regain stability and a fresh start.
